What is Schema Markup?

Schema markup is, simply put, a code layer that’s applied to certain page or pages of the website and it provides additional information, aka “structured data”, for the search engines on the content that is found on the page(s). There are many Schemas for local businesses, events, places, products and so on.

The code markups are recognized by most modern search engines in use and could be installed a developer or via GTM.

IS SCHEMA NECESSARY, OR – IS SCHEMA MARKUP “GOOD FOR SEO”?

Yes. It would be a good practice to apply the proper Schema markup to a website in order to enhance the SEO and allow better visibility on the search engines. Them more detailed information we could provide the search engines (aka the Structured Data) – the better chances we could increase the visibility and organic traffic.
